From the aviator

So it was an almost three hour movie.
And just as Basaez said, yeah, the same guy who was going to write about films in here but never did, when you see a film, your impressions and perception of it depends on different factors, your mood, the day, what you ate, how you felt and so on, things that in sum are subjective. Of course that is arguable, but sometimes you just have to start from somewhere, regardless of what the others think and regardless of being right or wrong.
So the aviator.
It was a lazy Sunday, and the house empty of maids and visitors. Only b, and Dugueiroz, each dwelling in their own worlds, reading, writing or whatever. We met for a late and slow breakfast in the most pure b style and it was ok.
I got myself ready with a bottle of a French red, and you should see how difficult it is to find wines different to Chilean wines in Chile. Alas, the taste of a scotsman sometimes become demanding :)
So cigar in hand and bottle of red comfortably resting by my side, I started the dvd.
Then the guy, the Hughes guy. It seems that geniality or geniousness is too much of a borderline with insanity, as it has been seem abundantly. The guy was infatuated with beauty and movie stars, and had this gradioseness about everything he ventured that placed a mark on anything. And so it seemed, based on the film, that having the vision, the will to do things was directly connected to both his insanity and geniousness. On top of that, he had the wealth and a very good team of supporters who helped him make his dreams come true.
So the guy, aside from the usual love affairs and rollercoaster feelings, really took a peek into the future, or which might be the same to say, shaped somehow the future.
Perhaps he was a precog (using P.K.Dick's words), a precog with money, loads of.
So he envisioned warcrafts, missiles, radar guided missiles, commercial aviation, the use of electronics, satellites, satellites for commercial use, and many other things that I am sure will be known in the future.
For, you see, agendas of governments, states, and corporations are far away into the future, a future of control and power that has nothing to do with us, the rest of the sheeps, the rest of the flock. The elite, notwithstanding headed by clowns and messianic leaders, has, has always have, a different agenda.
So, actings.
DiCaprio. Good acting. I am not very fond of his voice, which I feel too high pitched for my taste, but well, you've got to the give the man laurels for his talent.
Cate Blanchett, simply overwhelming. I recollect how she was deprived of the Oscar with her portrayal of Elizabeth, that meaning anything but the milestones and awards of the empire present an open passport to certain avenues, and it was given instead to the also lovely Gwinneth for her role in, listen to this, Shakespeare in love. Form over substance. But in the film, she portrays a young K Hepburn whom I have to admit surprised me. It is not farfetched to expect a southern American woman with stamina, cultural background, and prowess. Oh, the bushies have altered tremendously the perception the rest of the world has of that part of the world.
Then, the always lovely Kate Beckinshale, a true English rose who had a very short appearance as Ava Gardner, a timely and sharp-tongued Ava.

So the film is an overlapping of bubbles and bubbles, different spheres mixing feeling, and ever-growing insanity, the deeds of a wealthy genious, and of course, some flavor of political corruption. But to say that, political corruption might be, perhaps, naivety, perhaps redundancy.
And it was a Republican senator. Anyways.
Back to the machines of power presented in the film, there is no doubt that the directo could have spent more time testing different approaches to the life of the guy, though the ever young appearance of DiCaprio might not had been of much help.
And so it came and went. Not sure it was going to be awarded the Oscar, as it happened not to be. Not sure that it was going to be able to compete against the million dollar baby of Mr. wood of the east, and it did not succeed either.
Hence, provided you have a good chunk of time on your hands and would like to see good actings and let your mind wonder a little bit, give it a chance with the dvd.
Back to mr hughes, pioneer of today's satellite usage, this leads us to Google earth.
A Spanish friend of mine showed me the free version of it.
Mindboggling!!! to say the least.
There are many things you can see using that free version. War planes stationed at different airports, all over the world, cities, street names, houses even.
But they have not been able to locate their arch-enemy. No wonder conspiracy theories are all over the blogs and the news. Well, more in the blogs than in the news.
I am afraid that much of the mistery of life is lost. Much of the mistery of being hidden, of do things on your own, is definitely lost.
Ergo, the acute sense of paranoia increases by the day and by the second. We are not safe, we are not left to our things. Big brother is really watching us, but we still think that this is but a game.
Not a game as nothing is casual nor left at random. Not casual
at all.
So the starting point is the aviator and this moment of pause is satellites, world control, politics, and paranoia.
I gather I might be needing my medication.
Au revoir!
James
